Australian Catholic University Poetry Prize, 2022

On Thursday 29 September 2022, Kevin attended the prestigious ACU Poetry Prize awards night in Sydney, having had two poems - ‘Roofer’ and ‘A Morning Running Late’ - shortlisted for the award.

The 2022 ACU offers $21 000 in prize money. Six winners were chosen from ninety-four shortlisted poems: three commended poems, and 1st, 2nd and third were awarded.

Kevin’s poem ‘Roofer’ placed 2nd.

The Newcastle Poetry Prize, 2022

Also, his poem ‘Commission Home’ has been sortlisted for the 2022 Newcastle Poetry Prize.The competition offers a prize pool of $25 000. Winners will be announced on the Awards Day, 15 October 2022.

Another Day close to release.

Kevin’s second manuscript—Another Day—is being published by Flying Islands Press. It’ll be released early in 2023.
